Chapter 7: Lynn Discovers Nancy

Welcome to Chapter 7 of the Blog Series Journeys to Health!

Previously in Chapter 6, we briefly discussed how Lynn discovered Nancy while seeking treatment for her sick puppy.
Over the course of 5-7 years her health had completely spiraled out of control. This week, join us as we dive into Lynn’s
journey more and what she was experiencing up to the point of finally working with Nancy.

How much pain/dysfunction did you have prior?

Nancy: When we started our journey together you were pretty ill in the beginning, there were a lot of
things that you were unable to do in life, you couldn’t work, you were struggling to care for your home
and your children.

Lynn: I think I was actually too sick to understand even how sick I was. You know, there was just an
incredible pain I had, severe Neuro Lyme at that point, you know, including depression and a relentless
anxiety. It was a very troubling time for me.

Nancy: You had symptoms of peripheral neuropathy and your bladder was problematic… many things
had gone wrong for you. You were weeping and you’d have these experiences of heat and
then chills – it was pretty extreme.

Lynn: It was very frightening. I think back to that time and I just remember thinking, I was like, clinging
to the edge of a canyon, and it felt like I was gonna fall into that canyon any moment, so I guess that felt like
a mini version of a near death experience.

Do you remember what your intake process was like?

Lynn: I remember I felt immediate peace staying in your presence. I felt cared for and loved – I felt like this
was a person who was dedicated immediately to knowing everything about my history, about my family history,
about my journey through Lyme. I left there just feeling like I finally had an advocate, and I think when you have
Lyme, at least back in 2012, western medicine just simply didn’t understand it, they didn’t agree upon whether or
not it can become a chronic situation. I had met somebody that not only had been down that journey herself but
had healed from it and believed me and that was the key. I finally had somebody who actually believed that my
symptoms were real, so I was immediately bonded to you.
