After years of searching for relief from Bartonella and Babesia, I found Water’s Edge Wellness. My story begins two years ago when I was bitten by a tick. I was experiencing symptoms similar to a heart attack. IGeneX testing confirmed this and I was put on four different antibiotics for a year. At the same time my children were also showing signs of Lyme Disease including anxiety, heart palpitations, an inability to focus mentally, and breathlessness. I learned about Nancy Angelini and have been completely symptom free now that I am three months into my weekly, all natural treatments. My daughters are also on the road to recovery and we owe it all to Water’s Edge Wellness.

Water’s Edge Wellness has been helpful with not only relieving my pain but also with educating me on prevention and corrective ways to take care of myself from head-to-toe. The environment at Water’s Edge Wellness is so peaceful, it is like taking a vacation from the stress of everyday life. My shoulder and back muscles were very tight from a previous neck injury and my friend recommended the services of Nancy Angelini to help with my pain. If you are looking for results, I would recommend Nancy Angelini at Water’s Edge Wellness.

It is with great pleasure that I share the sense of blessing I have for being in Nancy’s care…I had been on a downward spiral for years and did not understand the myriad of symptoms that plagued me…Despite my efforts to find answers in the traditional medical community the answers I was provided with were just temporary band-aids. I was right on target with what Nancy had predicted in terms of my turn around time. I still have a short way to go with treatment but have very high expectations for my life ahead. Thank you Nancy for what you do and for the care you have in doing it.

The improvements in my overall health have been very significant to me. What is remarkable is that I have only been your client for a mere 9 weeks. Since adopting your carefully designed and customized protocol I noticed my health started to improve just days into the program. I believe you have a very unique gift and your truly holistic approach to healing the body is magnificent. I haven’t felt this healthy, this vibrant since well before my bout with cancer over 20 years ago.

I met Nancy at a time when I was abandoned and left for dead by traditional western medical practices when my chronic Lyme Disease had been dismissed by every specialty I sought care from. I was so incredibly broken and every system in my body had begun to fail from a decade of missed tick born illness and total body toxicity burden. Nancy’s heartfelt approach and careful consideration of my case has saved my life. After partnering with her for a year I am well on my way to recovery from chronic illness and I owe it all to Nancy’s knowledge, compassion and tireless commitment to my improvement.

I started with Nancy in June of 2019 after having a knee replacement. Nancy helped me get more range and also made my scar look 100% better using cupping, moxa and topical herbal poultices as well as deep massage. I am still with her today as I had guillain barre in 2006. Nancy guided me through nutrition and herbs that played a big part in my recovery. Water’s Edge Wellness also has an HBOT (Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy) machine and I use it as often as I can. It helps me manage my symptoms.
Nancy is so kind, she really wants you to get better. She does not judge your past bad habits. To me, Nancy is brilliant and has an abundance of knowledge. She is very dedicated and passionate about her work. I enjoy going to her office and plan on seeing her for years to come.

Understanding digestive issues holistic treatment in Georgetown MA starts with recognizing that your digestive system is far more complex than most people realize. Your gut isn't simply a tube that processes food-it's an intricate ecosystem involving trillions of microorganisms, sophisticated signaling pathways, and a powerful barrier that influences your entire health. When something goes wrong, symptoms like bloating, irregular bowel movements, food sensitivities, and fatigue often point to deeper imbalances rather than isolated problems. At Waters Edge Wellness in Boxford, MA, we help clients throughout Essex County and surrounding North Shore communities understand their digestive issues holistic treatment options that address root causes rather than masking symptoms.
Let's explore how your digestive system communicates with your brain in ways that directly affect your mood, energy, and overall wellbeing. Your gut produces approximately 90 percent of your body's serotonin-the neurotransmitter responsible for mood regulation and emotional balance. When your digestive health suffers, this production diminishes, potentially contributing to anxiety, depression, and brain fog. This bidirectional communication means that stress also worsens digestive dysfunction, creating a cycle that conventional medicine often treats with separate medications rather than addressing the connection itself.
A holistic approach to digestive issues holistic treatment in Georgetown MA recognizes this relationship and works to restore balance through stress management, targeted nutrition, and supplements that support both gut and nervous system health. By calming the nervous system and healing the gut lining simultaneously, many clients experience improvements in both digestion and mental clarity.
Understanding which foods trigger your symptoms demands more than following a trendy elimination diet that works for someone else. Food sensitivities develop when the intestinal lining becomes compromised-a condition often called increased intestinal permeability-allowing partially digested food particles to enter the bloodstream and trigger immune responses. These reactions are unique to each person based on their specific microbial composition, genetic factors, and current digestive capacity. What bothers one person might be perfectly fine for another.
Rather than guessing or following generic protocols, digestive issues holistic treatment should include functional testing and personalized assessment to identify your specific triggers and underlying causes. Waters Edge Wellness works with clients throughout Essex County to map their unique sensitivities and gradually restore digestive tolerance through strategic nutrition and targeted supplementation rather than permanent restriction.
The goal of holistic digestive treatment isn't permanent avoidance of foods-it's restoring your digestive system's ability to handle a wide variety of nourishing foods.
Many people assume that heartburn and acid reflux indicate too much stomach acid, so they take medications to suppress it. In reality, approximately 60 to 70 percent of people with reflux symptoms actually have insufficient stomach acid production. When acid levels drop, food doesn't break down properly, sits longer in the stomach, and creates the perfect environment for uncomfortable symptoms. Additionally, low stomach acid compromises your ability to absorb critical nutrients like B12, iron, and calcium, leading to fatigue and other deficiencies.
A thorough assessment as part of digestive issues holistic treatment can reveal your actual acid production and guide appropriate interventions. Rather than suppressing acid further, the goal becomes supporting your body's natural production through specific nutrients, timing strategies, and foods that stimulate proper digestion.
Your microbiome-the community of beneficial bacteria in your digestive tract-functions like an organ system that influences digestion, immune function, nutrient absorption, and even weight regulation. An imbalanced microbiome, called dysbiosis, occurs when harmful bacteria outnumber beneficial ones due to antibiotic use, poor diet, chronic stress, or infections. This imbalance compromises the intestinal barrier, reduces production of beneficial compounds, and triggers inflammation throughout your digestive system.
Digestive issues holistic treatment focuses on rebalancing your microbiome through targeted probiotics, prebiotic foods, and dietary choices that feed beneficial bacteria while starving harmful ones. At Waters Edge Wellness in Boxford and throughout North Shore communities, we use functional testing to understand your specific microbial profile and create personalized strategies for restoration rather than one-size-fits-all probiotic recommendations.
The intestinal lining replaces itself approximately every three to five days, suggesting quick healing-but deeper imbalances affecting the gut barrier, nervous system, and microbiome typically require consistent support over weeks or months to fully resolve. Patience with the process distinguishes truly effective digestive issues holistic treatment from temporary symptom relief. Many people experience initial improvements within two to four weeks, but sustained healing and the ability to tolerate a wider variety of foods develops through continued commitment to dietary and lifestyle changes.
Working with a holistic practitioner who understands these timelines and can adjust your treatment plan as your body heals ensures you stay motivated and make progress. The investment in understanding and addressing your unique digestive needs through natural remedies for gut health creates lasting improvement rather than dependency on symptom-management medications.
Conventional gastroenterology typically focuses on diagnosing and managing specific digestive diseases through medication or procedures, often addressing symptoms rather than underlying causes. Holistic digestive treatment investigates root causes-such as dysbiosis, intestinal permeability, nutrient deficiencies, and stress-then uses natural interventions including nutrition, targeted supplements, and lifestyle modifications to restore full digestive function and prevent future issues.
Most people notice initial improvements in symptoms like bloating or energy within two to four weeks, though meaningful healing of the gut barrier and restoration of proper digestion typically requires three to six months of consistent care. The timeline depends on the severity of your condition, how long the imbalance has existed, and your ability to implement dietary and lifestyle changes as recommended.
Yes. IBS is typically a diagnosis of exclusion-meaning conventional testing found nothing specific-but it doesn't identify the actual cause of your symptoms. Holistic assessment uses functional testing and detailed history-taking to uncover specific imbalances like dysbiosis, food sensitivities, motility issues, or nervous system dysregulation that can then be effectively addressed with targeted natural treatment.
Absolutely. Holistic treatment works alongside any medications you're currently taking and can often reduce your dependence on symptom-management drugs as your underlying digestive function improves. It's important to work with a practitioner who understands potential interactions and communicates with your other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated, safe care.
