After years of searching for relief from Bartonella and Babesia, I found Water’s Edge Wellness. My story begins two years ago when I was bitten by a tick. I was experiencing symptoms similar to a heart attack. IGeneX testing confirmed this and I was put on four different antibiotics for a year. At the same time my children were also showing signs of Lyme Disease including anxiety, heart palpitations, an inability to focus mentally, and breathlessness. I learned about Nancy Angelini and have been completely symptom free now that I am three months into my weekly, all natural treatments. My daughters are also on the road to recovery and we owe it all to Water’s Edge Wellness.

Water’s Edge Wellness has been helpful with not only relieving my pain but also with educating me on prevention and corrective ways to take care of myself from head-to-toe. The environment at Water’s Edge Wellness is so peaceful, it is like taking a vacation from the stress of everyday life. My shoulder and back muscles were very tight from a previous neck injury and my friend recommended the services of Nancy Angelini to help with my pain. If you are looking for results, I would recommend Nancy Angelini at Water’s Edge Wellness.

It is with great pleasure that I share the sense of blessing I have for being in Nancy’s care…I had been on a downward spiral for years and did not understand the myriad of symptoms that plagued me…Despite my efforts to find answers in the traditional medical community the answers I was provided with were just temporary band-aids. I was right on target with what Nancy had predicted in terms of my turn around time. I still have a short way to go with treatment but have very high expectations for my life ahead. Thank you Nancy for what you do and for the care you have in doing it.

The improvements in my overall health have been very significant to me. What is remarkable is that I have only been your client for a mere 9 weeks. Since adopting your carefully designed and customized protocol I noticed my health started to improve just days into the program. I believe you have a very unique gift and your truly holistic approach to healing the body is magnificent. I haven’t felt this healthy, this vibrant since well before my bout with cancer over 20 years ago.

I met Nancy at a time when I was abandoned and left for dead by traditional western medical practices when my chronic Lyme Disease had been dismissed by every specialty I sought care from. I was so incredibly broken and every system in my body had begun to fail from a decade of missed tick born illness and total body toxicity burden. Nancy’s heartfelt approach and careful consideration of my case has saved my life. After partnering with her for a year I am well on my way to recovery from chronic illness and I owe it all to Nancy’s knowledge, compassion and tireless commitment to my improvement.

I started with Nancy in June of 2019 after having a knee replacement. Nancy helped me get more range and also made my scar look 100% better using cupping, moxa and topical herbal poultices as well as deep massage. I am still with her today as I had guillain barre in 2006. Nancy guided me through nutrition and herbs that played a big part in my recovery. Water’s Edge Wellness also has an HBOT (Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy) machine and I use it as often as I can. It helps me manage my symptoms.
Nancy is so kind, she really wants you to get better. She does not judge your past bad habits. To me, Nancy is brilliant and has an abundance of knowledge. She is very dedicated and passionate about her work. I enjoy going to her office and plan on seeing her for years to come.

Understanding menopause starts with recognizing it as a significant life transition, not simply a medical condition to be managed. If you're exploring a menopause holistic approach in Newburyport MA or throughout Essex County, Massachusetts, you've likely discovered that conventional medicine often treats menopause symptoms in isolation-hot flashes here, mood changes there-without addressing the deeper hormonal shifts occurring in your body. A holistic perspective is different. It views menopause as an opportunity to support your entire system: your hormones, digestion, nervous system, and overall vitality.
A menopause holistic approach focuses on understanding the root causes of your symptoms rather than suppressing them temporarily. During menopause, your body undergoes dramatic shifts in estrogen, progesterone, and other hormones. These changes affect not just reproductive health, but your metabolism, mood regulation, bone density, and even gut function.
Think of your body as an interconnected ecosystem. When hormone levels shift, it creates ripples throughout that system. Hot flashes might stem partly from hormonal fluctuation, but also from blood sugar dysregulation or nervous system dysregulation. Brain fog could relate to declining estrogen, but also to inadequate nutrient absorption or chronic inflammation in the gut. A holistic approach addresses these connections, not just surface symptoms.
At Waters Edge Wellness in Boxford, MA, and throughout the North Shore communities, practitioners who specialize in a menopause holistic approach use evidence-based natural medicine to support your body's own regulatory capacities. This means nutritional counseling, functional medicine assessments, and personalized strategies designed for your unique body and situation.
When considering a menopause holistic approach in Newburyport MA, it helps to understand the foundational areas that practitioners typically address:
Your gut health directly influences hormone metabolism. The liver and gut bacteria together manage something called the estrobolome-essentially, how your body processes and recycles hormones. If your digestion is sluggish or your gut flora is imbalanced, your hormonal symptoms may worsen. A holistic approach emphasizes whole foods rich in fiber, phytoestrogens (plant compounds that gently support hormone balance), and nutrients that support liver function. Many women find that addressing underlying gut health and digestive optimization naturally reduces hot flashes and improves mood stability.
Menopause and stress interact powerfully. When your nervous system is in chronic activation (what practitioners call a sympathetic-dominant state), your body produces more cortisol, which can interfere with progesterone production and worsen hot flashes and sleep disturbances. A holistic menopause approach incorporates practices that calm your nervous system: adequate sleep, gentle movement, stress management techniques, and sometimes specific botanical or nutritional support. This isn't about relaxation being a luxury-it's about nervous system regulation as an essential pillar of hormonal health.
Many women experience deficiencies during menopause that intensify symptoms. Magnesium supports both calm and sleep. B vitamins are essential for mood and energy. Iron status shifts, affecting fatigue. Rather than a generic multivitamin, a menopause holistic approach means assessment of your specific needs through detailed history and, when appropriate, functional testing. This personalized strategy is far more effective than a one-size-fits-all approach.
A menopause holistic approach in Newburyport MA addresses the full spectrum of symptoms women experience. Hot flashes and night sweats often improve when blood sugar stability is restored and the nervous system is supported. Brain fog frequently clears when gut inflammation decreases and nutrient absorption improves. Mood changes, anxiety, and sleep disturbances respond well to the combination of natural hormone balancing, nervous system support, and addressing any underlying autoimmune or inflammatory patterns.
Weight changes during menopause aren't simply about calories. Shifting hormones affect metabolism, appetite regulation, and where your body stores fat. A holistic strategy focuses on metabolic support through nutrient-dense foods, adequate protein, and addressing insulin sensitivity-not restriction.
If you're seeking guidance on a menopause holistic approach, finding the right practitioner matters. Look for someone trained in functional medicine and natural approaches who takes time to understand your complete health picture: your digestive health, stress levels, sleep patterns, family history, and specific symptoms. They should order relevant functional assessments when needed and create a truly personalized plan.
Waters Edge Wellness, based in Boxford with clients throughout the North Shore, offers holistic health consultations specifically designed to address menopause and hormone balance using evidence-based natural approaches. Your first step is usually a thorough assessment to identify the root causes beneath your symptoms, followed by a customized strategy combining nutritional counseling, lifestyle recommendations, and targeted natural support.
You don't need to overhaul everything at once. Start with foundational changes: prioritize sleep, stabilize blood sugar through balanced meals, add more plant foods, and reduce inflammatory triggers. Notice which foods and situations worsen your symptoms-often, eliminating common inflammatory triggers like processed foods or excessive caffeine creates noticeable improvement within weeks.
Consider working with a practitioner who can assess your complete situation and recommend targeted support. Whether that's specific botanical remedies, nutritional supplementation, or lifestyle modifications, a menopause holistic approach in Newburyport MA or your local North Shore community provides personalized guidance rooted in both science and compassion.
Menopause is a transition, not a crisis. With the right support, many women find this phase brings greater energy, clarity, and wellbeing than they expected.
A holistic approach addresses the underlying causes of menopause symptoms-such as hormonal shifts, gut health, and nervous system balance-rather than treating individual symptoms in isolation. Conventional medicine often focuses on symptom suppression, while a holistic menopause approach in Newburyport MA uses evidence-based natural strategies including nutritional support, lifestyle modifications, and botanical remedies to support your body's own regulatory systems.
Yes, many women experience significant improvement in hot flashes and night sweats through holistic strategies, particularly when addressing blood sugar stability, nervous system regulation, gut health, and targeted nutritional support. While results vary individually, the menopause holistic approach focuses on stabilizing the underlying factors that trigger these symptoms rather than simply masking them temporarily.
Many women notice improvements in energy, sleep, and symptom intensity within 4 to 8 weeks of implementing dietary and lifestyle changes, though individual timelines vary based on the severity of symptoms and how comprehensively the underlying factors are addressed. A practitioner offering a menopause holistic approach in Newburyport MA will establish realistic expectations and adjust your plan based on your progress.
