After years of searching for relief from Bartonella and Babesia, I found Water’s Edge Wellness. My story begins two years ago when I was bitten by a tick. I was experiencing symptoms similar to a heart attack. IGeneX testing confirmed this and I was put on four different antibiotics for a year. At the same time my children were also showing signs of Lyme Disease including anxiety, heart palpitations, an inability to focus mentally, and breathlessness. I learned about Nancy Angelini and have been completely symptom free now that I am three months into my weekly, all natural treatments. My daughters are also on the road to recovery and we owe it all to Water’s Edge Wellness.

Water’s Edge Wellness has been helpful with not only relieving my pain but also with educating me on prevention and corrective ways to take care of myself from head-to-toe. The environment at Water’s Edge Wellness is so peaceful, it is like taking a vacation from the stress of everyday life. My shoulder and back muscles were very tight from a previous neck injury and my friend recommended the services of Nancy Angelini to help with my pain. If you are looking for results, I would recommend Nancy Angelini at Water’s Edge Wellness.

It is with great pleasure that I share the sense of blessing I have for being in Nancy’s care…I had been on a downward spiral for years and did not understand the myriad of symptoms that plagued me…Despite my efforts to find answers in the traditional medical community the answers I was provided with were just temporary band-aids. I was right on target with what Nancy had predicted in terms of my turn around time. I still have a short way to go with treatment but have very high expectations for my life ahead. Thank you Nancy for what you do and for the care you have in doing it.

The improvements in my overall health have been very significant to me. What is remarkable is that I have only been your client for a mere 9 weeks. Since adopting your carefully designed and customized protocol I noticed my health started to improve just days into the program. I believe you have a very unique gift and your truly holistic approach to healing the body is magnificent. I haven’t felt this healthy, this vibrant since well before my bout with cancer over 20 years ago.

I met Nancy at a time when I was abandoned and left for dead by traditional western medical practices when my chronic Lyme Disease had been dismissed by every specialty I sought care from. I was so incredibly broken and every system in my body had begun to fail from a decade of missed tick born illness and total body toxicity burden. Nancy’s heartfelt approach and careful consideration of my case has saved my life. After partnering with her for a year I am well on my way to recovery from chronic illness and I owe it all to Nancy’s knowledge, compassion and tireless commitment to my improvement.

I started with Nancy in June of 2019 after having a knee replacement. Nancy helped me get more range and also made my scar look 100% better using cupping, moxa and topical herbal poultices as well as deep massage. I am still with her today as I had guillain barre in 2006. Nancy guided me through nutrition and herbs that played a big part in my recovery. Water’s Edge Wellness also has an HBOT (Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy) machine and I use it as often as I can. It helps me manage my symptoms.
Nancy is so kind, she really wants you to get better. She does not judge your past bad habits. To me, Nancy is brilliant and has an abundance of knowledge. She is very dedicated and passionate about her work. I enjoy going to her office and plan on seeing her for years to come.

Are you navigating menopause and feeling like conventional medicine offers only one narrow path forward? Many women in Peabody, MA and surrounding North Shore communities experience hot flashes, mood swings, sleep disruption, and weight changes during menopause-yet feel unheard or over-medicated by standard approaches. A menopause holistic approach focuses on addressing the root hormonal imbalances driving these symptoms, rather than simply suppressing them. Waters Edge Wellness, located in Boxford, MA, specializes in this evidence-based, whole-person model for women seeking natural alternatives to manage this major life transition.
When comparing conventional menopause management to a holistic framework, several analytical distinctions emerge. Conventional medicine typically addresses menopause symptoms through pharmaceutical intervention-hormone replacement therapy (HRT), antidepressants for mood symptoms, or sleep aids for insomnia. While these tools have their place, they treat the symptoms rather than investigating what's driving the hormonal cascade.
A menopause holistic approach in Peabody, MA and Essex County evaluates multiple interconnected systems: digestive health, nutrient absorption, liver function, stress resilience, sleep quality, and metabolic factors. The data suggests that when these foundational systems operate optimally, many menopausal symptoms resolve naturally without pharmaceutical intervention. For example, addressing gut dysbiosis can improve estrogen metabolism; supporting adrenal health can reduce hot flashes; and optimizing nutrient status can stabilize mood and sleep.
At Waters Edge Wellness, the holistic assessment includes detailed nutritional counseling, functional medicine testing, and personalized natural medicine protocols. Rather than a one-size-fits-all prescription, this approach recognizes that menopause manifests differently in each woman based on her unique health history, lifestyle, and biological terrain.
The relationship between diet, lifestyle, and menopausal experiences is evidence-based and significant. Certain nutrients-magnesium, B vitamins, omega-3 fatty acids, and plant-based phytoestrogens-directly support hormonal balance and reduce symptom severity. Foods that promote inflammation or disrupt blood sugar stability, conversely, can amplify hot flashes, mood instability, and weight gain during this transition.
Analytical frameworks in functional medicine recognize that menopause isn't simply a hormone deficiency problem; it's a metabolic recalibration. Sleep quality, stress management, movement, and social connection all modulate how your body produces and metabolizes hormones. Women who adopt consistent sleep routines, reduce chronic stress, and engage in strength-based exercise report significantly fewer severe symptoms compared to those who don't address these factors.
The holistic counselors at Waters Edge Wellness in Boxford serve clients throughout Essex County, including Peabody and surrounding communities. They work with you to identify which dietary patterns and lifestyle habits are either supporting or undermining your hormonal health, then create an actionable plan aligned with your preferences and capacity.
A menopause holistic approach also addresses gut health-the foundation of nutrient absorption and hormone metabolism. Poor digestive function means fewer nutrients available to support hormonal transitions; dysbiosis can lead to poor estrogen reabsorption, intensifying symptoms. This is why natural remedies for gut health in Peabody, MA often form a critical part of comprehensive menopause support.
Beyond individual interventions, the research increasingly supports the protective effect of social connection and community during menopause. Isolation and unsupported transitions correlate with higher symptom severity and depression risk. Working with a practitioner who takes time to understand your whole life-not just your lab values-provides both medical guidance and emotional validation during a significant life passage.
Waters Edge Wellness brings this integrated perspective to women across the North Shore. Whether you're in Peabody, Boxford, or elsewhere in Essex County, the practice combines evidence-based natural medicine with the compassionate, personalized attention that transforms how you experience this transition. Rather than viewing menopause as a deficiency disease requiring pharmaceutical correction, a holistic approach recognizes it as a natural life stage that can be supported, optimized, and even experienced with vitality when the right systems are in place.
A holistic menopause approach addresses the root causes of symptoms-such as digestive dysfunction, nutrient deficiencies, stress, and inflammation-rather than just replacing hormones. While HRT suppresses symptoms, a holistic framework optimizes your body's natural ability to navigate this transition through nutrition, lifestyle, targeted supplementation, and stress management, often reducing or eliminating the need for pharmaceutical intervention.
Yes, research supports that specific botanicals, minerals, and lifestyle modifications significantly reduce hot flash frequency and intensity in many women. Magnesium, phytoestrogen-rich foods, stress reduction, and sleep optimization address the underlying physiological drivers of these symptoms rather than masking them. Individual response varies, which is why personalized assessment and monitoring are essential components of effective natural menopause management.
Your digestive system is responsible for absorbing nutrients needed for hormone production and metabolizing estrogen for reabsorption or elimination. Poor gut function creates nutrient deficiencies that worsen menopausal symptoms and impairs estrogen metabolism, leading to symptom intensification. Healing your gut-through dietary changes, reducing dysbiosis, and supporting digestive integrity-is often foundational to successfully managing menopause naturally.
Most women notice some symptom improvement within 4-8 weeks of implementing dietary and lifestyle changes, with more significant shifts occurring over 3-6 months as nutrient status rebuilds and hormonal patterns stabilize. Timeline varies based on symptom severity, how long symptoms have been present, and individual compliance with recommendations.
Functional lab testing-including hormone panels, nutrient levels, thyroid markers, and markers of inflammation-provides valuable data to guide personalized treatment and track progress. While some improvement occurs through nutrition and lifestyle alone, testing helps identify specific deficiencies or imbalances driving your symptoms, allowing for more targeted and efficient treatment.
A well-designed holistic approach takes your complete health history and current conditions into account, ensuring all recommendations are compatible with your specific situation. This is why working with a qualified practitioner is important-they evaluate interactions, contraindications, and how menopause management fits into your broader health picture rather than addressing menopause in isolation.
Waters Edge Wellness, based in Boxford, MA, specializes in holistic menopause support and serves clients throughout Essex County, including Peabody and surrounding North Shore communities. They combine evidence-based natural medicine, personalized nutritional counseling, and functional assessment to help women navigate menopause naturally and reclaim vitality during this transition.
