After years of searching for relief from Bartonella and Babesia, I found Water’s Edge Wellness. My story begins two years ago when I was bitten by a tick. I was experiencing symptoms similar to a heart attack. IGeneX testing confirmed this and I was put on four different antibiotics for a year. At the same time my children were also showing signs of Lyme Disease including anxiety, heart palpitations, an inability to focus mentally, and breathlessness. I learned about Nancy Angelini and have been completely symptom free now that I am three months into my weekly, all natural treatments. My daughters are also on the road to recovery and we owe it all to Water’s Edge Wellness.

Water’s Edge Wellness has been helpful with not only relieving my pain but also with educating me on prevention and corrective ways to take care of myself from head-to-toe. The environment at Water’s Edge Wellness is so peaceful, it is like taking a vacation from the stress of everyday life. My shoulder and back muscles were very tight from a previous neck injury and my friend recommended the services of Nancy Angelini to help with my pain. If you are looking for results, I would recommend Nancy Angelini at Water’s Edge Wellness.

It is with great pleasure that I share the sense of blessing I have for being in Nancy’s care…I had been on a downward spiral for years and did not understand the myriad of symptoms that plagued me…Despite my efforts to find answers in the traditional medical community the answers I was provided with were just temporary band-aids. I was right on target with what Nancy had predicted in terms of my turn around time. I still have a short way to go with treatment but have very high expectations for my life ahead. Thank you Nancy for what you do and for the care you have in doing it.

The improvements in my overall health have been very significant to me. What is remarkable is that I have only been your client for a mere 9 weeks. Since adopting your carefully designed and customized protocol I noticed my health started to improve just days into the program. I believe you have a very unique gift and your truly holistic approach to healing the body is magnificent. I haven’t felt this healthy, this vibrant since well before my bout with cancer over 20 years ago.

I met Nancy at a time when I was abandoned and left for dead by traditional western medical practices when my chronic Lyme Disease had been dismissed by every specialty I sought care from. I was so incredibly broken and every system in my body had begun to fail from a decade of missed tick born illness and total body toxicity burden. Nancy’s heartfelt approach and careful consideration of my case has saved my life. After partnering with her for a year I am well on my way to recovery from chronic illness and I owe it all to Nancy’s knowledge, compassion and tireless commitment to my improvement.

I started with Nancy in June of 2019 after having a knee replacement. Nancy helped me get more range and also made my scar look 100% better using cupping, moxa and topical herbal poultices as well as deep massage. I am still with her today as I had guillain barre in 2006. Nancy guided me through nutrition and herbs that played a big part in my recovery. Water’s Edge Wellness also has an HBOT (Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy) machine and I use it as often as I can. It helps me manage my symptoms.
Nancy is so kind, she really wants you to get better. She does not judge your past bad habits. To me, Nancy is brilliant and has an abundance of knowledge. She is very dedicated and passionate about her work. I enjoy going to her office and plan on seeing her for years to come.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic autoimmune condition affecting the central nervous system, characterized by immune system dysfunction that damages myelin sheaths protecting nerve fibers. For residents of Georgetown, MA and surrounding North Shore communities in Essex County, Massachusetts, natural approaches to MS management offer complementary strategies that work alongside conventional treatment to address underlying immune dysregulation and optimize overall health. Natural approaches to MS Georgetown MA focus on reducing inflammation, supporting immune tolerance, and enhancing neurological function through evidence-based lifestyle and nutritional interventions.
While MS requires medical supervision, many individuals seek natural approaches to MS Georgetown MA as part of a comprehensive wellness strategy. At Waters Edge Wellness in Boxford, MA, we understand that MS management extends beyond medication alone. The condition involves complex interactions between genetic predisposition, environmental triggers, and immune system activation. Natural medicine offers tools to modulate these factors at the root level, potentially reducing symptom severity and supporting long-term disease management.
MS develops when the immune system mistakenly attacks myelin, the protective coating around nerve fibers in the brain and spinal cord. This autoimmune process results from multiple contributing factors: intestinal permeability (often called "leaky gut"), dysbiosis (imbalanced gut microbiota), molecular mimicry (where pathogens resemble myelin proteins), vitamin D deficiency, and chronic inflammatory triggers from diet and lifestyle.
Natural approaches to MS management begin with restoring immune tolerance and reducing systemic inflammation. This requires precise assessment of individual contributing factors rather than applying generic protocols. The gut microbiota plays a particularly crucial role-dysbiotic patterns are significantly more prevalent in MS patients compared to healthy controls, and specific bacterial families influence immune regulatory T cells that normally suppress autoimmune responses.
Key mechanisms targeted in natural MS management include:
Evidence-based natural approaches emphasize specific nutritional patterns and botanical compounds that modulate immune function and reduce neuroinflammation. The Wahls Protocol and modified Mediterranean patterns have demonstrated measurable benefits in MS populations, featuring whole foods rich in micronutrients and low in processed triggers.
Critical nutritional components include:
Omega-3 Polyunsaturated Fats: EPA and DHA from clean fish sources or algae-derived supplements reduce pro-inflammatory cytokines and support myelin integrity. Typical therapeutic ranges involve 2,000-3,000 mg combined EPA/DHA daily.
Vitamin D3: Deficiency correlates with increased MS relapse rates and disease progression. Restoration to optimal levels (50-80 ng/mL) requires individualized dosing, typically 2,000-6,000 IU daily, with monitoring.
Polyphenol-Rich Botanicals: Compounds from curcumin, green tea catechins, resveratrol, and quercetin demonstrate neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory properties through multiple mechanisms including NF-kB pathway inhibition and microglial modulation.
Amino Acid Support: L-carnosine, taurine, and other conditionally essential amino acids support myelin formation and neurological function. These are particularly relevant when dietary protein intake is restricted for elimination purposes.
Natural approaches to MS Georgetown MA recognize that medication and supplements alone cannot overcome poor foundational health practices. Comprehensive assessment identifies individual triggers including sleep dysfunction, chronic stress, infections (particularly Epstein-Barr reactivation), and environmental toxin exposure.
Evidence-based lifestyle modifications include:
At Waters Edge Wellness in Boxford and throughout surrounding North Shore communities, our functional medicine approach involves detailed investigation of each patient's unique trigger profile. We utilize advanced functional testing including comprehensive microbiota analysis, intestinal permeability markers, food sensitivity panels, and immune status assessment to create truly personalized natural protocols.
Working with a qualified practitioner ensures that natural approaches to MS Georgetown MA integrate safely with your medical treatment plan. These strategies represent a methodical, evidence-based pathway toward reducing disease activity while optimizing neurological function and quality of life.
Natural approaches should complement, not replace, prescription MS medications prescribed by your neurologist. These strategies work synergistically to address underlying immune dysregulation while your medication manages acute disease activity. Always consult your medical team before making any changes to your prescribed treatment plan.
Timeline varies significantly based on disease stage, individual biology, and adherence to protocols. Many people report improvements in fatigue and brain fog within 4-8 weeks, while measurable changes in relapse rates or MRI findings typically require 3-6 months of consistent intervention. Consistent implementation of dietary and lifestyle changes produces the most reliable results.
Gut health is foundational to MS management because intestinal dysbiosis and permeability directly influence immune tolerance through altered T-regulatory cell development. Restoring healthy gut barrier function and balanced microbiota composition reduces systemic inflammation and molecular mimicry triggers that activate anti-myelin immune responses.
Common triggers include gluten (due to molecular mimicry in genetically susceptible individuals), dairy, processed foods high in inflammatory seed oils, and foods that promote intestinal permeability. An elimination diet guided by a practitioner helps identify your individual sensitivities, as trigger foods vary significantly between people.
Yes, vitamin D deficiency is strongly associated with MS disease activity and relapses. Optimizing vitamin D status to 50-80 ng/mL through appropriate supplementation (typically 2,000-6,000 IU daily with monitoring) supports immune regulation and reduces relapse risk, particularly in patients with documented deficiency.
Working with a practitioner experienced in functional medicine and autoimmune conditions ensures you receive properly sequenced, evidence-based protocols tailored to your specific disease presentation and medical history. This approach prevents contraindications with your medications and optimizes outcomes through personalized assessment.
