After years of searching for relief from Bartonella and Babesia, I found Water’s Edge Wellness. My story begins two years ago when I was bitten by a tick. I was experiencing symptoms similar to a heart attack. IGeneX testing confirmed this and I was put on four different antibiotics for a year. At the same time my children were also showing signs of Lyme Disease including anxiety, heart palpitations, an inability to focus mentally, and breathlessness. I learned about Nancy Angelini and have been completely symptom free now that I am three months into my weekly, all natural treatments. My daughters are also on the road to recovery and we owe it all to Water’s Edge Wellness.

Water’s Edge Wellness has been helpful with not only relieving my pain but also with educating me on prevention and corrective ways to take care of myself from head-to-toe. The environment at Water’s Edge Wellness is so peaceful, it is like taking a vacation from the stress of everyday life. My shoulder and back muscles were very tight from a previous neck injury and my friend recommended the services of Nancy Angelini to help with my pain. If you are looking for results, I would recommend Nancy Angelini at Water’s Edge Wellness.

It is with great pleasure that I share the sense of blessing I have for being in Nancy’s care…I had been on a downward spiral for years and did not understand the myriad of symptoms that plagued me…Despite my efforts to find answers in the traditional medical community the answers I was provided with were just temporary band-aids. I was right on target with what Nancy had predicted in terms of my turn around time. I still have a short way to go with treatment but have very high expectations for my life ahead. Thank you Nancy for what you do and for the care you have in doing it.

The improvements in my overall health have been very significant to me. What is remarkable is that I have only been your client for a mere 9 weeks. Since adopting your carefully designed and customized protocol I noticed my health started to improve just days into the program. I believe you have a very unique gift and your truly holistic approach to healing the body is magnificent. I haven’t felt this healthy, this vibrant since well before my bout with cancer over 20 years ago.

I met Nancy at a time when I was abandoned and left for dead by traditional western medical practices when my chronic Lyme Disease had been dismissed by every specialty I sought care from. I was so incredibly broken and every system in my body had begun to fail from a decade of missed tick born illness and total body toxicity burden. Nancy’s heartfelt approach and careful consideration of my case has saved my life. After partnering with her for a year I am well on my way to recovery from chronic illness and I owe it all to Nancy’s knowledge, compassion and tireless commitment to my improvement.

I started with Nancy in June of 2019 after having a knee replacement. Nancy helped me get more range and also made my scar look 100% better using cupping, moxa and topical herbal poultices as well as deep massage. I am still with her today as I had guillain barre in 2006. Nancy guided me through nutrition and herbs that played a big part in my recovery. Water’s Edge Wellness also has an HBOT (Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy) machine and I use it as often as I can. It helps me manage my symptoms.
Nancy is so kind, she really wants you to get better. She does not judge your past bad habits. To me, Nancy is brilliant and has an abundance of knowledge. She is very dedicated and passionate about her work. I enjoy going to her office and plan on seeing her for years to come.

If you or someone you care about has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS), you've likely encountered a lot of conventional treatment options. But what if there were other ways to support your body's healing? Natural approaches to MS in Lawrence, MA and the surrounding North Shore communities are gaining recognition as complementary strategies that many people find valuable alongside their medical care. This guide explores how natural medicine and lifestyle modifications can play a meaningful role in managing MS symptoms and supporting overall wellness.
Multiple sclerosis is an autoimmune condition where the body's immune system mistakenly attacks the protective coating of nerve fibers, leading to communication problems between the brain and the rest of the body. Symptoms vary widely-some people experience fatigue, others face mobility challenges, cognitive changes, or pain. The unpredictability of MS can be frustrating, which is why many people in Lawrence, MA and throughout Essex County, Massachusetts seek additional support beyond conventional approaches alone.
At Waters Edge Wellness in Boxford, MA, we understand that living with MS requires a comprehensive approach. Rather than focusing solely on symptom management, natural approaches to MS emphasize identifying and addressing root causes-like immune dysregulation, gut health imbalances, nutritional deficiencies, and inflammatory triggers. This philosophy aligns with what many people find empowering: taking an active role in their own healing journey.
The foundation of natural approaches to MS lies in understanding autoimmune conditions more deeply. Your immune system is designed to protect you, but in MS, it becomes overactive and targets your own nervous system. This doesn't happen in isolation-it's influenced by genetics, environmental factors, stress levels, gut health, and nutritional status.
One critical area that often gets overlooked in conventional MS management is gut health. Your gut is home to trillions of bacteria that play a surprising role in immune regulation. Research increasingly shows that imbalances in gut bacteria-what practitioners call dysbiosis-can contribute to increased autoimmune activity. When you work with a holistic health practice that understands this connection, you can take steps to restore gut balance through targeted dietary changes, specific foods, and sometimes targeted supplementation.
Natural approaches to managing autoimmune conditions typically include:
For people in Lawrence, MA and surrounding communities, accessing this kind of personalized assessment is essential. A holistic health consultation can reveal which specific factors are driving your symptoms, allowing you to address the root causes rather than just managing flare-ups reactively.
Another often-overlooked aspect of managing MS naturally involves hormonal health. Many people with MS-particularly women-notice their symptoms fluctuate with their menstrual cycle or during hormonal transitions. This isn't coincidental. Estrogen, progesterone, and other hormones significantly influence immune function and inflammation levels throughout your body.
Natural hormone balancing focuses on optimizing your body's own hormone production rather than replacing or suppressing hormones unnecessarily. This might involve specific nutrients, botanical support, lifestyle adjustments, and eliminating endocrine-disrupting substances from your environment. When hormones are balanced, many people report more stable energy levels, better mood regulation, and fewer autoimmune flares.
Nutrition is equally foundational. People managing MS benefit enormously from understanding which foods support their nervous system and which trigger inflammation. Common inflammatory triggers include processed foods, refined carbohydrates, certain oils, and sometimes specific proteins. Meanwhile, foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, and polyphenols actively support nervous system health and reduce inflammation.
Practical nutritional strategies include:
When you work with a practitioner in Boxford or the surrounding North Shore communities who specializes in functional medicine and nutritional counseling, you get personalized guidance rather than generic advice. What works for one person's MS may not work for another, which is why assessment and customization matter tremendously.
Lifestyle practices complement nutritional work beautifully. Regular movement-tailored to your current capacity-supports circulation, reduces inflammation, and improves mood. Stress management practices like meditation, yoga, or time in nature directly calm immune activity. Quality sleep is non-negotiable; during deep sleep, your body performs crucial immune regulation and nervous system repair.
Many people in Lawrence, MA and Essex County communities find that combining these elements creates noticeable improvements in their energy, symptom frequency, and overall quality of life. You don't need to overhaul everything at once. Working with a holistic health practice helps you identify the highest-impact changes to make first, then build from there.
Natural approaches to MS aren't about replacing your medical care-they're about enhancing it and addressing aspects of your health that conventional treatment alone may not target. If you're ready to explore how these strategies might support your specific situation, Waters Edge Wellness in Boxford offers comprehensive holistic health consultations and personalized support for autoimmune condition management. Your healing journey is uniquely yours, and having guidance rooted in both evidence and compassion makes all the difference.
Natural approaches cannot cure MS, but they can significantly support symptom management, reduce flare frequency, and improve overall quality of life. By addressing root causes like immune dysregulation, gut health, and nutritional deficiencies, many people experience meaningful improvements in fatigue, cognitive function, and inflammation levels.
Diet plays a central role in natural MS management because food directly influences inflammation levels and immune function. An anti-inflammatory, whole-foods-based diet rich in omega-3s, antioxidants, and nutrients like B vitamins and magnesium can reduce symptom severity, while identifying personal food triggers helps prevent flares.
No-natural approaches work best alongside your prescribed medical care, not instead of it. A holistic health practitioner can help you integrate natural strategies with your current treatment plan to enhance overall outcomes without disrupting your medical management.
Timelines vary based on individual factors, the severity of symptoms, and how comprehensively you implement changes. Some people notice shifts in energy or mood within weeks, while deeper improvements in inflammation and immune regulation often develop over several months of consistent effort.
