After years of searching for relief from Bartonella and Babesia, I found Water’s Edge Wellness. My story begins two years ago when I was bitten by a tick. I was experiencing symptoms similar to a heart attack. IGeneX testing confirmed this and I was put on four different antibiotics for a year. At the same time my children were also showing signs of Lyme Disease including anxiety, heart palpitations, an inability to focus mentally, and breathlessness. I learned about Nancy Angelini and have been completely symptom free now that I am three months into my weekly, all natural treatments. My daughters are also on the road to recovery and we owe it all to Water’s Edge Wellness.

Water’s Edge Wellness has been helpful with not only relieving my pain but also with educating me on prevention and corrective ways to take care of myself from head-to-toe. The environment at Water’s Edge Wellness is so peaceful, it is like taking a vacation from the stress of everyday life. My shoulder and back muscles were very tight from a previous neck injury and my friend recommended the services of Nancy Angelini to help with my pain. If you are looking for results, I would recommend Nancy Angelini at Water’s Edge Wellness.

It is with great pleasure that I share the sense of blessing I have for being in Nancy’s care…I had been on a downward spiral for years and did not understand the myriad of symptoms that plagued me…Despite my efforts to find answers in the traditional medical community the answers I was provided with were just temporary band-aids. I was right on target with what Nancy had predicted in terms of my turn around time. I still have a short way to go with treatment but have very high expectations for my life ahead. Thank you Nancy for what you do and for the care you have in doing it.

The improvements in my overall health have been very significant to me. What is remarkable is that I have only been your client for a mere 9 weeks. Since adopting your carefully designed and customized protocol I noticed my health started to improve just days into the program. I believe you have a very unique gift and your truly holistic approach to healing the body is magnificent. I haven’t felt this healthy, this vibrant since well before my bout with cancer over 20 years ago.

I met Nancy at a time when I was abandoned and left for dead by traditional western medical practices when my chronic Lyme Disease had been dismissed by every specialty I sought care from. I was so incredibly broken and every system in my body had begun to fail from a decade of missed tick born illness and total body toxicity burden. Nancy’s heartfelt approach and careful consideration of my case has saved my life. After partnering with her for a year I am well on my way to recovery from chronic illness and I owe it all to Nancy’s knowledge, compassion and tireless commitment to my improvement.

I started with Nancy in June of 2019 after having a knee replacement. Nancy helped me get more range and also made my scar look 100% better using cupping, moxa and topical herbal poultices as well as deep massage. I am still with her today as I had guillain barre in 2006. Nancy guided me through nutrition and herbs that played a big part in my recovery. Water’s Edge Wellness also has an HBOT (Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy) machine and I use it as often as I can. It helps me manage my symptoms.
Nancy is so kind, she really wants you to get better. She does not judge your past bad habits. To me, Nancy is brilliant and has an abundance of knowledge. She is very dedicated and passionate about her work. I enjoy going to her office and plan on seeing her for years to come.

If you're searching for natural approaches to MS in Lexington MA, you're likely looking for ways to support your body beyond conventional treatment alone. Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a complex autoimmune condition, and many people in the Lexington area and across Essex County, Massachusetts are turning to complementary holistic strategies to help manage symptoms, reduce inflammation, and improve their quality of life. The good news? Natural approaches to MS can work alongside your current medical care, helping you address root causes rather than simply masking symptoms.
At Waters Edge Wellness in Boxford, MA, we understand that MS management isn't one-size-fits-all. That's why we help patients from surrounding North Shore communities explore evidence-based natural approaches tailored to their unique needs. Let's walk through the main options available to you and help you understand how they compare.
When exploring natural approaches to MS in Lexington MA and nearby areas, you'll encounter several distinct strategies. Each has its own benefits, limitations, and evidence base. Here's how they stack up:
| Approach | How It Works | Potential Benefits | Considerations |
|---|---|---|---|
| Anti-Inflammatory Nutrition | Eliminates trigger foods; emphasizes omega-3s, antioxidants, whole foods | May reduce symptom flare-ups; supports gut health; evidence-based | Requires dietary commitment; results vary by individual |
| Gut Health Optimization | Restores microbiome balance through probiotics, prebiotics, and functional food | Strengthens immune regulation; reduces intestinal permeability | Takes time to see effects; requires ongoing lifestyle changes |
| Stress Reduction & Nervous System Support | Meditation, breathwork, yoga, sleep optimization | Lowers cortisol; reduces flare triggers; improves resilience | Requires consistent practice; works best combined with other approaches |
| Targeted Supplementation | Vitamin D, omega-3s, magnesium, medicinal herbs based on deficiencies | Addresses specific nutritional gaps; supports immune balance | Quality varies; must be guided by practitioner; not a standalone solution |
| Environmental & Lifestyle Modifications | Reduces exposure to toxins; improves sleep; manages activity levels | Foundational; supports all other approaches; sustainable | Requires environmental assessment and habit changes |
Each of these approaches addresses different aspects of MS. The most effective strategy? Combining several of them in a personalized protocol that honors your body's unique needs and circumstances.
Here's where natural approaches to MS differ fundamentally from symptom-focused care. Rather than simply suppressing immune activity or numbing pain, holistic practitioners look deeper. They ask: Why is your immune system attacking your nervous system? What's driving inflammation? Are there gut permeability issues? Nutrient deficiencies? Unmanaged stress patterns?
Because MS is rooted in autoimmune dysregulation, addressing foundational health becomes crucial. Research suggests that roughly 70-80% of your immune system resides in your gut. When your microbiome is imbalanced or your intestinal barrier is compromised-conditions called dysbiosis and "leaky gut"-your immune system becomes hypervigilant. This can trigger or worsen autoimmune flare-ups.
At Waters Edge Wellness, we help you explore this connection. Through comprehensive assessment, we identify:
Once we understand these root factors, we can design a natural approach specifically for you-not a generic MS protocol, but one shaped by your body's actual needs.
If you're in Lexington, MA or other North Shore communities in Essex County, Massachusetts, this comprehensive approach is available locally. You don't need to travel far to access the kind of personalized, root-cause-focused care that many people with MS are seeking.
The verdict? Natural approaches to MS work best when they're individualized, evidence-based, and combined strategically. A single supplement or diet won't transform your health, but a coordinated, whole-person protocol-addressing gut health, nutrition, stress, and lifestyle simultaneously-can meaningfully reduce symptoms and improve resilience. The key is working with a practitioner who understands both the science of MS and the art of personalization.
Ready to explore how natural approaches might support your MS management? Waters Edge Wellness in Boxford is here to guide you through assessment, education, and implementation of a plan that feels sustainable and aligned with your health goals.
Natural approaches are best viewed as complementary to, not replacements for, prescribed MS medications. Always consult your neurologist before making any changes to your treatment plan. Many people find that combining natural strategies with conventional care provides better symptom management and quality of life than either approach alone.
Timeline varies significantly based on the approach and individual factors. Dietary changes and stress reduction may show benefits within 4-8 weeks, while gut healing and immune rebalancing often require 3-6 months of consistent effort. Patience and consistency are key-autoimmune conditions developed over time and typically require sustained, layered intervention.
A comprehensive plan usually addresses multiple areas: an anti-inflammatory diet tailored to your food sensitivities, nutritional supplementation based on lab assessment, gut health restoration, stress management practices, sleep optimization, and movement that respects your energy levels. The specific combination depends on your unique health picture and symptom patterns.
Common MS triggers include refined carbohydrates, processed foods, high omega-6 vegetable oils, and foods that cause individual sensitivities. However, what triggers one person may not affect another-this is why personalized assessment through elimination diets and functional testing is valuable. Working with a practitioner helps you identify your specific food triggers rather than following generic restrictions.
Yes, emerging research supports several natural strategies: anti-inflammatory diets reduce symptom severity, vitamin D supplementation correlates with fewer flare-ups, gut microbiome health influences immune regulation, and stress management demonstrably reduces MS exacerbations. While more research is always needed, the evidence base for integrative MS care continues to grow.
