After years of searching for relief from Bartonella and Babesia, I found Water’s Edge Wellness. My story begins two years ago when I was bitten by a tick. I was experiencing symptoms similar to a heart attack. IGeneX testing confirmed this and I was put on four different antibiotics for a year. At the same time my children were also showing signs of Lyme Disease including anxiety, heart palpitations, an inability to focus mentally, and breathlessness. I learned about Nancy Angelini and have been completely symptom free now that I am three months into my weekly, all natural treatments. My daughters are also on the road to recovery and we owe it all to Water’s Edge Wellness.

Water’s Edge Wellness has been helpful with not only relieving my pain but also with educating me on prevention and corrective ways to take care of myself from head-to-toe. The environment at Water’s Edge Wellness is so peaceful, it is like taking a vacation from the stress of everyday life. My shoulder and back muscles were very tight from a previous neck injury and my friend recommended the services of Nancy Angelini to help with my pain. If you are looking for results, I would recommend Nancy Angelini at Water’s Edge Wellness.

It is with great pleasure that I share the sense of blessing I have for being in Nancy’s care…I had been on a downward spiral for years and did not understand the myriad of symptoms that plagued me…Despite my efforts to find answers in the traditional medical community the answers I was provided with were just temporary band-aids. I was right on target with what Nancy had predicted in terms of my turn around time. I still have a short way to go with treatment but have very high expectations for my life ahead. Thank you Nancy for what you do and for the care you have in doing it.

The improvements in my overall health have been very significant to me. What is remarkable is that I have only been your client for a mere 9 weeks. Since adopting your carefully designed and customized protocol I noticed my health started to improve just days into the program. I believe you have a very unique gift and your truly holistic approach to healing the body is magnificent. I haven’t felt this healthy, this vibrant since well before my bout with cancer over 20 years ago.

I met Nancy at a time when I was abandoned and left for dead by traditional western medical practices when my chronic Lyme Disease had been dismissed by every specialty I sought care from. I was so incredibly broken and every system in my body had begun to fail from a decade of missed tick born illness and total body toxicity burden. Nancy’s heartfelt approach and careful consideration of my case has saved my life. After partnering with her for a year I am well on my way to recovery from chronic illness and I owe it all to Nancy’s knowledge, compassion and tireless commitment to my improvement.

I started with Nancy in June of 2019 after having a knee replacement. Nancy helped me get more range and also made my scar look 100% better using cupping, moxa and topical herbal poultices as well as deep massage. I am still with her today as I had guillain barre in 2006. Nancy guided me through nutrition and herbs that played a big part in my recovery. Water’s Edge Wellness also has an HBOT (Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy) machine and I use it as often as I can. It helps me manage my symptoms.
Nancy is so kind, she really wants you to get better. She does not judge your past bad habits. To me, Nancy is brilliant and has an abundance of knowledge. She is very dedicated and passionate about her work. I enjoy going to her office and plan on seeing her for years to come.

Sarah, a 47-year-old marketing professional from Andover, MA, had spent years managing chronic bloating, brain fog, and unexplained fatigue. She had visited multiple conventional practitioners, each offering symptom-focused solutions: over-the-counter remedies, elimination diets she couldn't sustain, and a growing sense that something deeper was wrong. When she began researching safe detox methods Andover MA, she discovered that true detoxification isn't about extreme cleanses or restrictive protocols-it's about supporting her body's natural elimination systems. This realization led her to Waters Edge Wellness in nearby Boxford, MA, where a different approach awaited.
Sarah's core issue wasn't a need for aggressive detoxification but rather a sluggish digestive system and compromised gut barrier function. The market for detox products in Essex County and across the North Shore communities is saturated with quick-fix solutions: juice cleanses, expensive supplements, and undefined protocols that leave people feeling worse. When comparing conventional detox approaches to evidence-based natural medicine, the data suggests that aggressive methods often overwhelm the body's actual detoxification pathways rather than support them.
Sarah's practitioner at Waters Edge Wellness conducted a thorough holistic health assessment, identifying several contributors to her symptoms: dysbiosis (imbalanced gut bacteria), food sensitivities she wasn't aware of, and chronic stress patterns affecting her digestive function. Rather than recommending safe detox methods Andover MA residents typically encounter-restrictive cleanses or pharmaceutical interventions-the team proposed a foundational approach: restore gut health first, then naturally optimize her body's elimination capacity.
The analytical framework used involved three key areas of evaluation: digestive enzyme production, intestinal permeability, and microbiome composition. Each required personalized nutritional counseling and functional medicine assessment rather than one-size-fits-all protocols. This precision-based approach is how Waters Edge Wellness addresses chronic health issues across surrounding North Shore communities, from Andover to Danvers, Salem, and beyond.
Over the following months, Sarah's care plan incorporated several interconnected elements. First came dietary modifications targeting her identified food sensitivities while introducing nutrient-dense whole foods that supported her microbiome. Her practitioner explained that safe detox methods fundamentally depend on adequate fiber, hydration, and specific nutrients that enable the liver and kidneys to function optimally.
Second, targeted supplementation addressed specific gaps: omega-3 fatty acids to reduce intestinal inflammation, specific probiotic strains to restore bacterial balance, and botanical compounds traditionally used to support the body's natural detoxification organs. The team monitored her response through follow-up consultations, adjusting recommendations based on her symptoms and functional improvements rather than adhering rigidly to a predetermined timeline.
Third, Sarah received education about how chronic stress undermines digestive function and detoxification capacity. Her wellness plan incorporated lifestyle modifications-sleep optimization, movement practices, and stress management techniques-recognizing that holistic health requires addressing root causes across multiple systems.
What distinguished this approach from typical detox programs was its emphasis on restoration rather than restriction. Sarah wasn't asked to fast, juice-cleanse, or purchase expensive proprietary systems. Instead, she worked with her body's natural rhythms, gradually rebuilding the metabolic and digestive capacity she had lost.
Within eight weeks, Sarah reported improved digestion, clearer thinking, and sustained energy throughout her day. By four months, her symptoms had largely resolved. The practical takeaway: safe detox methods work best when they support your body's inherent systems rather than bypass them. This principle guides all wellness optimization work at Waters Edge Wellness, whether clients are from Andover, Boxford, or other communities throughout Essex County.
Sarah's experience demonstrates that achieving lasting wellness requires moving beyond the detox industry's marketing narratives toward genuine, evidence-based support for your body's natural healing capacity.
Safe detox methods focus on supporting your body's natural detoxification organs-liver, kidneys, and digestive tract-through proper nutrition, hydration, adequate sleep, and stress management. Risky approaches include extreme calorie restriction, prolonged fasting without medical supervision, or unregulated herbal supplements that can strain these organs. Evidence-based practitioners prioritize gradual, sustainable changes over aggressive protocols.
Meaningful changes in energy, digestion, and mental clarity often appear within 4-8 weeks when following a properly designed program tailored to your individual health situation. However, deep tissue restoration and complete symptom resolution may require 3-6 months of consistent, personalized support. Duration depends entirely on the severity of your baseline condition and how consistently you follow recommendations.
High-quality whole foods form the foundation of any effective detox approach; many people see significant improvements through dietary changes alone without purchasing expensive supplements. That said, targeted supplementation addressing specific nutrient gaps or imbalances identified through functional assessment can accelerate progress. A qualified practitioner can distinguish between truly necessary support and marketing-driven purchases.
Yes, but it requires careful personalization because aggressive detox protocols can trigger autoimmune flare-ups in sensitive individuals. Working with a practitioner experienced in both autoimmune condition management and natural medicine ensures your detox approach stabilizes rather than destabilizes your immune system. The focus shifts to gentle, foundational support rather than aggressive elimination.
Detoxification refers to your body's ongoing process of eliminating metabolic waste and external toxins, while gut health restoration specifically addresses the intestinal barrier, bacterial balance, and digestive function. A compromised gut actually impairs your detoxification capacity, which is why practitioners often prioritize gut healing as the foundation for effective, safe detoxification.
Evidence-based programs are individualized based on assessment findings rather than one-size-fits-all protocols, focus on sustainable lifestyle changes over quick fixes, avoid extreme restrictions, and rely on whole foods alongside any supplementation. Programs making promises of rapid transformation or requiring expensive proprietary systems typically prioritize sales over your actual health outcomes.
