After years of searching for relief from Bartonella and Babesia, I found Water’s Edge Wellness. My story begins two years ago when I was bitten by a tick. I was experiencing symptoms similar to a heart attack. IGeneX testing confirmed this and I was put on four different antibiotics for a year. At the same time my children were also showing signs of Lyme Disease including anxiety, heart palpitations, an inability to focus mentally, and breathlessness. I learned about Nancy Angelini and have been completely symptom free now that I am three months into my weekly, all natural treatments. My daughters are also on the road to recovery and we owe it all to Water’s Edge Wellness.

Water’s Edge Wellness has been helpful with not only relieving my pain but also with educating me on prevention and corrective ways to take care of myself from head-to-toe. The environment at Water’s Edge Wellness is so peaceful, it is like taking a vacation from the stress of everyday life. My shoulder and back muscles were very tight from a previous neck injury and my friend recommended the services of Nancy Angelini to help with my pain. If you are looking for results, I would recommend Nancy Angelini at Water’s Edge Wellness.

It is with great pleasure that I share the sense of blessing I have for being in Nancy’s care…I had been on a downward spiral for years and did not understand the myriad of symptoms that plagued me…Despite my efforts to find answers in the traditional medical community the answers I was provided with were just temporary band-aids. I was right on target with what Nancy had predicted in terms of my turn around time. I still have a short way to go with treatment but have very high expectations for my life ahead. Thank you Nancy for what you do and for the care you have in doing it.

The improvements in my overall health have been very significant to me. What is remarkable is that I have only been your client for a mere 9 weeks. Since adopting your carefully designed and customized protocol I noticed my health started to improve just days into the program. I believe you have a very unique gift and your truly holistic approach to healing the body is magnificent. I haven’t felt this healthy, this vibrant since well before my bout with cancer over 20 years ago.

I met Nancy at a time when I was abandoned and left for dead by traditional western medical practices when my chronic Lyme Disease had been dismissed by every specialty I sought care from. I was so incredibly broken and every system in my body had begun to fail from a decade of missed tick born illness and total body toxicity burden. Nancy’s heartfelt approach and careful consideration of my case has saved my life. After partnering with her for a year I am well on my way to recovery from chronic illness and I owe it all to Nancy’s knowledge, compassion and tireless commitment to my improvement.

I started with Nancy in June of 2019 after having a knee replacement. Nancy helped me get more range and also made my scar look 100% better using cupping, moxa and topical herbal poultices as well as deep massage. I am still with her today as I had guillain barre in 2006. Nancy guided me through nutrition and herbs that played a big part in my recovery. Water’s Edge Wellness also has an HBOT (Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy) machine and I use it as often as I can. It helps me manage my symptoms.
Nancy is so kind, she really wants you to get better. She does not judge your past bad habits. To me, Nancy is brilliant and has an abundance of knowledge. She is very dedicated and passionate about her work. I enjoy going to her office and plan on seeing her for years to come.

If you or someone you love is navigating a Parkinson's diagnosis, you've probably noticed that conventional medical approaches often focus on managing symptoms rather than addressing the underlying factors that influence quality of life. Have you considered what a holistic Parkinsons support Boston MA approach might offer alongside your current care plan? The good news is that integrative, evidence-based natural medicine can complement your existing treatment by supporting your nervous system, gut health, and overall resilience.
Living in the Boston area and surrounding North Shore communities of Essex County, Massachusetts, you have access to practitioners who understand both the science behind neurodegenerative conditions and the power of personalized, root-cause medicine. This guide will help you understand the different approaches to holistic Parkinsons support Boston MA, compare what's available to you, and determine which options might make sense for your unique situation.
When you start exploring holistic Parkinsons support in the Boston area, you'll encounter several different approaches. Some practitioners focus exclusively on nutrition and lifestyle modification. Others emphasize herbal and botanical medicine. Still others integrate functional medicine assessment-looking at bloodwork, microbiome health, and nutritional status-to identify modifiable factors that may be influencing neurological symptoms.
The key difference between these approaches lies in their depth of assessment. A practitioner offering basic nutritional counseling may suggest anti-inflammatory foods and supplementation. A functional medicine practitioner, however, will investigate whether you have gut dysbiosis, nutrient malabsorption, environmental toxin exposures, or hormonal imbalances that could be contributing to symptom severity. Because your gut health, hormone balance, and nutritional status directly influence neurological function, this deeper investigation often yields more personalized, effective support.
In Boxford, MA and the surrounding communities, practitioners trained in holistic health and functional medicine take time to understand your full health history, current symptoms, medications, and lifestyle. This comprehensive approach means you're not just receiving generic advice-you're getting a strategy tailored to your specific needs and circumstances.
Research consistently shows that the gut-brain axis significantly influences neurological function, meaning supporting digestive health and microbial diversity can be a cornerstone of comprehensive neurological support.
Let's be direct: conventional neurology focuses on pharmaceutical management of motor symptoms. This has real value. However, it often leaves questions unanswered: Why is my fatigue so severe? Why do I have constipation alongside my other symptoms? Why are my nutrient levels depleted? What lifestyle factors might reduce my symptom burden?
Integrative practitioners ask these questions and investigate answers. When you seek holistic Parkinsons support Boston MA through a functional medicine lens, you're accessing assessment tools like comprehensive stool analysis, micronutrient testing, food sensitivity evaluation, and hormone assessment. These reveal opportunities for intervention that pharmaceutical management alone cannot address.
| Approach | Focus | Timeframe | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Conventional Neurology | Symptom management via medication | Immediate relief | Managing motor symptoms alongside complementary care |
| Nutritional Counseling | Anti-inflammatory diet and supplementation | Weeks to months | Those wanting basic dietary guidance |
| Functional Medicine | Root-cause investigation and personalized protocols | Months (ongoing) | Comprehensive support addressing multiple body systems |
| Herbal and Botanical Medicine | Plant-based neuroprotective compounds | Weeks to months | Those seeking natural adjuncts to conventional care |
Ideally, you're not choosing one approach over another. Instead, you're building a coordinated care team. Your neurologist manages medications and monitors disease progression. A holistic health practitioner supports the nutritional, digestive, hormonal, and lifestyle factors that influence how well you function day-to-day. This collaboration often leads to better outcomes and quality of life.
If you're in the North Shore area-whether in Boxford, MA or nearby Essex County communities-you have advantages. Practitioners trained in holistic health assessment and functional medicine are increasingly available in your region. But how do you evaluate whether a practitioner is right for you?
Ask these questions: Does the practitioner take a comprehensive health history, or do they jump quickly to recommendations? Will they coordinate with your neurologist and other doctors? Do they use functional medicine testing to inform their protocols, or do they recommend the same supplements to everyone? Are they willing to explain the reasoning behind their recommendations in a way you can understand?
Waters Edge Wellness, based in Boxford, MA, exemplifies this thoughtful approach. The practice specializes in addressing root causes of health imbalances through personalized assessment and evidence-based natural medicine. When considering holistic Parkinsons support Boston MA and surrounding communities, a practitioner who combines comprehensive intake, functional assessment, nutritional counseling, and ongoing support offers you the most thorough foundation.
Your journey with a holistic practitioner should feel collaborative, educational, and grounded in science. You're not abandoning your neurologist-you're expanding your care team to address factors that conventional care often overlooks. This integrated approach to holistic Parkinsons support Boston MA region practitioners can offer represents some of the most thoughtful, comprehensive care available today.
Holistic support is designed to complement your neurologist's care, not replace prescribed medications. A functional medicine practitioner can help identify modifiable factors-like gut health, nutrient status, and inflammation-that may influence how you tolerate and respond to treatment, but any changes to your medication regimen must be discussed with your neurologist.
Functional medicine practitioners may recommend comprehensive stool analysis, micronutrient testing, food sensitivity assessment, inflammatory markers, and hormone evaluation. These tests reveal opportunities for personalized intervention in areas like digestive function, nutritional status, and metabolic health that are often overlooked in conventional neurology assessments.
Results vary based on your individual health situation, how long symptoms have been present, and your commitment to lifestyle changes. Many people notice improvements in fatigue, digestion, or overall resilience within four to eight weeks, though comprehensive protocol adjustments may take several months to optimize.
