After years of searching for relief from Bartonella and Babesia, I found Water’s Edge Wellness. My story begins two years ago when I was bitten by a tick. I was experiencing symptoms similar to a heart attack. IGeneX testing confirmed this and I was put on four different antibiotics for a year. At the same time my children were also showing signs of Lyme Disease including anxiety, heart palpitations, an inability to focus mentally, and breathlessness. I learned about Nancy Angelini and have been completely symptom free now that I am three months into my weekly, all natural treatments. My daughters are also on the road to recovery and we owe it all to Water’s Edge Wellness.

Water’s Edge Wellness has been helpful with not only relieving my pain but also with educating me on prevention and corrective ways to take care of myself from head-to-toe. The environment at Water’s Edge Wellness is so peaceful, it is like taking a vacation from the stress of everyday life. My shoulder and back muscles were very tight from a previous neck injury and my friend recommended the services of Nancy Angelini to help with my pain. If you are looking for results, I would recommend Nancy Angelini at Water’s Edge Wellness.

It is with great pleasure that I share the sense of blessing I have for being in Nancy’s care…I had been on a downward spiral for years and did not understand the myriad of symptoms that plagued me…Despite my efforts to find answers in the traditional medical community the answers I was provided with were just temporary band-aids. I was right on target with what Nancy had predicted in terms of my turn around time. I still have a short way to go with treatment but have very high expectations for my life ahead. Thank you Nancy for what you do and for the care you have in doing it.
~ Ruth
The improvements in my overall health have been very significant to me. What is remarkable is that I have only been your client for a mere 9 weeks. Since adopting your carefully designed and customized protocol I noticed my health started to improve just days into the program. I believe you have a very unique gift and your truly holistic approach to healing the body is magnificent. I haven’t felt this healthy, this vibrant since well before my bout with cancer over 20 years ago.

I met Nancy at a time when I was abandoned and left for dead by traditional western medical practices when my chronic Lyme Disease had been dismissed by every specialty I sought care from. I was so incredibly broken and every system in my body had begun to fail from a decade of missed tick born illness and total body toxicity burden. Nancy’s heartfelt approach and careful consideration of my case has saved my life. After partnering with her for a year I am well on my way to recovery from chronic illness and I owe it all to Nancy’s knowledge, compassion and tireless commitment to my improvement.

I started with Nancy in June of 2019 after having a knee replacement. Nancy helped me get more range and also made my scar look 100% better using cupping, moxa and topical herbal poultices as well as deep massage. I am still with her today as I had guillain barre in 2006. Nancy guided me through nutrition and herbs that played a big part in my recovery. Water’s Edge Wellness also has an HBOT (Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy) machine and I use it as often as I can. It helps me manage my symptoms.
Nancy is so kind, she really wants you to get better. She does not judge your past bad habits. To me, Nancy is brilliant and has an abundance of knowledge. She is very dedicated and passionate about her work. I enjoy going to her office and plan on seeing her for years to come.

Parkinson's disease presents complex neurological challenges that conventional medicine often addresses through pharmaceutical intervention alone. Holistic Parkinsons Support Newburyport MA represents an integrative approach that complements standard medical care by addressing the whole person-including nutritional status, digestive function, hormonal balance, and lifestyle factors that influence neurological health. For residents of Newburyport and surrounding North Shore communities in Essex County, Massachusetts, understanding how natural medicine can support Parkinson's management offers an additional avenue for optimizing quality of life and potentially reducing symptom burden.
The holistic model recognizes that Parkinson's disease affects not only motor function but also gut health, nutrient absorption, sleep quality, and emotional resilience. When comparing conventional and complementary approaches, the data suggests that integrated care-where natural medicine works alongside neurology-may offer advantages in symptom management, medication side effect mitigation, and overall wellbeing. Waters Edge Wellness, based in Boxford, MA, brings functional medicine expertise to residents throughout the North Shore seeking evidence-based natural support for complex neurological conditions.
Emerging research has illuminated a significant relationship between gastrointestinal health and Parkinson's disease progression. The gut microbiome-the community of microorganisms in the digestive tract-plays a crucial role in neurotransmitter synthesis, inflammation regulation, and the production of short-chain fatty acids that nourish the blood-brain barrier. In Parkinson's patients, gut dysfunction often precedes motor symptoms by years, suggesting that digestive optimization may represent an early intervention opportunity.
The vagus nerve, which extends from the brain through the digestive tract, serves as a bidirectional communication highway. Disrupted gut barrier integrity, dysbiosis, and intestinal inflammation can trigger or exacerbate neuroinflammation-a key mechanism in Parkinson's pathology. Holistic Parkinsons Support Newburyport MA practitioners analyze digestive function comprehensively, examining factors such as:
For individuals managing Parkinson's, restoring digestive resilience through dietary modification, targeted supplementation, and lifestyle strategies may reduce systemic inflammation that accelerates neurological decline. This approach addresses root causes rather than merely masking symptoms-a foundational principle of functional medicine available to Essex County residents through holistic practitioners.
Parkinson's disease creates unique nutritional demands. Levodopa (L-DOPA), the primary medication, competes with dietary amino acids for absorption, creating potential nutrient depletion patterns. Additionally, motor symptoms affect eating ability, while constipation limits nutrient extraction. A holistic assessment identifies these gaps and restores nutritional sufficiency through personalized counseling.
Specific micronutrients demonstrate particular relevance for Parkinson's support:
Nutritional status significantly influences both Parkinson's symptom severity and medication effectiveness-yet standard neurology often overlooks comprehensive dietary assessment.
When comparing standard care to integrated approaches, the data suggests that personalized nutritional counseling reduces symptom burden and optimizes medication response. Individuals throughout the North Shore, from Newburyport to surrounding communities, benefit from functional medicine practitioners who conduct detailed nutrient analysis and create targeted supplementation protocols tailored to their specific absorption patterns and symptom profile.
Beyond pharmacology and supplements, lifestyle factors profoundly influence Parkinson's trajectory. Neuroplasticity-the brain's capacity to reorganize itself-remains possible throughout life. Targeted movement practices, sleep optimization, stress management, and cognitive engagement activate neuroplastic mechanisms that may slow decline or improve function.
Evidence supports specific interventions for Holistic Parkinsons Support Newburyport MA residents:
Holistic practitioners in Boxford, MA and throughout Essex County recognize that sustainable lifestyle change requires personalized support. Rather than prescribing generic recommendations, functional medicine provides behavioral coaching, identifies barriers to adherence, and integrates movement and stress strategies into realistic daily routines. This individualized approach addresses the whole person, not isolated symptoms.
Holistic Parkinsons Support Newburyport MA also encompasses addressing medication side effects naturally. Constipation, sleep disturbance, anxiety, and dyskinesias often respond to dietary modification, herbal support, and lifestyle adjustment, reducing the need for additional medications that compound complexity and side effects. By optimizing foundational health through nutrition, movement, and stress management, individuals may maximize medication effectiveness while minimizing dose requirements over time.
For residents throughout the North Shore seeking comprehensive, evidence-based support for Parkinson's disease, integrative care offers a pathway that honors both conventional medical expertise and the body's innate capacity for resilience. Waters Edge Wellness brings functional medicine and holistic health expertise to Essex County communities, supporting individuals in optimizing nutritional status, digestive function, and lifestyle factors that influence neurological health and quality of life.
No-holistic support complements rather than replaces conventional medical care. Parkinson's requires neurological management, but natural medicine addresses nutritional gaps, digestive dysfunction, and lifestyle factors that influence symptom severity and medication effectiveness. The most comprehensive approach integrates both conventional neurology and evidence-based holistic strategies.
The gut microbiome produces neurotransmitters and regulates inflammation that directly affects the brain. Parkinson's patients often experience dysbiosis and intestinal permeability, which increase neuroinflammation. Restoring digestive health through dietary changes and targeted supplements may reduce systemic inflammation and slow symptom progression.
Coenzyme Q10, B vitamins, magnesium, antioxidants, and omega-3 fatty acids demonstrate particular relevance for Parkinson's support based on current research. However, supplementation must be personalized to individual absorption patterns and medication interactions. Consulting a functional medicine practitioner ensures safety and appropriateness.
Yes-the research strongly supports high-intensity exercise and resistance training for improving motor function and potentially slowing progression. Movement practices like dance engage both motor and cognitive systems. Consistent physical activity supports neuroplasticity and may enhance medication effectiveness while reducing symptom burden.
Seek practitioners trained in functional medicine who understand neurological conditions and can coordinate care with your neurologist. Look for providers in Essex County communities who offer comprehensive nutritional assessment, gut health optimization, and lifestyle coaching tailored to Parkinson's management.
Often, yes. Constipation, sleep disturbance, and dyskinesias frequently respond to dietary modification, proper hydration, and targeted supplementation. By addressing nutritional status and digestive function, individuals may optimize medication effectiveness and potentially reduce side effect burden.
Sleep quality directly affects the glymphatic system-the brain's waste-clearing mechanism that operates primarily during sleep. Poor sleep accelerates neurodegeneration and worsens motor symptoms. Optimizing sleep through lifestyle changes, stress management, and natural support is foundational for neuroprotection and symptom management.
