After years of searching for relief from Bartonella and Babesia, I found Water’s Edge Wellness. My story begins two years ago when I was bitten by a tick. I was experiencing symptoms similar to a heart attack. IGeneX testing confirmed this and I was put on four different antibiotics for a year. At the same time my children were also showing signs of Lyme Disease including anxiety, heart palpitations, an inability to focus mentally, and breathlessness. I learned about Nancy Angelini and have been completely symptom free now that I am three months into my weekly, all natural treatments. My daughters are also on the road to recovery and we owe it all to Water’s Edge Wellness.

Water’s Edge Wellness has been helpful with not only relieving my pain but also with educating me on prevention and corrective ways to take care of myself from head-to-toe. The environment at Water’s Edge Wellness is so peaceful, it is like taking a vacation from the stress of everyday life. My shoulder and back muscles were very tight from a previous neck injury and my friend recommended the services of Nancy Angelini to help with my pain. If you are looking for results, I would recommend Nancy Angelini at Water’s Edge Wellness.

It is with great pleasure that I share the sense of blessing I have for being in Nancy’s care…I had been on a downward spiral for years and did not understand the myriad of symptoms that plagued me…Despite my efforts to find answers in the traditional medical community the answers I was provided with were just temporary band-aids. I was right on target with what Nancy had predicted in terms of my turn around time. I still have a short way to go with treatment but have very high expectations for my life ahead. Thank you Nancy for what you do and for the care you have in doing it.

The improvements in my overall health have been very significant to me. What is remarkable is that I have only been your client for a mere 9 weeks. Since adopting your carefully designed and customized protocol I noticed my health started to improve just days into the program. I believe you have a very unique gift and your truly holistic approach to healing the body is magnificent. I haven’t felt this healthy, this vibrant since well before my bout with cancer over 20 years ago.

I met Nancy at a time when I was abandoned and left for dead by traditional western medical practices when my chronic Lyme Disease had been dismissed by every specialty I sought care from. I was so incredibly broken and every system in my body had begun to fail from a decade of missed tick born illness and total body toxicity burden. Nancy’s heartfelt approach and careful consideration of my case has saved my life. After partnering with her for a year I am well on my way to recovery from chronic illness and I owe it all to Nancy’s knowledge, compassion and tireless commitment to my improvement.

I started with Nancy in June of 2019 after having a knee replacement. Nancy helped me get more range and also made my scar look 100% better using cupping, moxa and topical herbal poultices as well as deep massage. I am still with her today as I had guillain barre in 2006. Nancy guided me through nutrition and herbs that played a big part in my recovery. Water’s Edge Wellness also has an HBOT (Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy) machine and I use it as often as I can. It helps me manage my symptoms.
Nancy is so kind, she really wants you to get better. She does not judge your past bad habits. To me, Nancy is brilliant and has an abundance of knowledge. She is very dedicated and passionate about her work. I enjoy going to her office and plan on seeing her for years to come.

If you or someone you love has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, you may feel overwhelmed by the complexity of managing symptoms while navigating conventional treatment options. Have you considered what a holistic approach to Parkinsons support might look like? Holistic Parkinsons support in Winchester MA focuses on addressing not just the motor symptoms you see, but the underlying neurological, nutritional, and lifestyle factors that influence disease progression and quality of life. This guide will help you understand how natural medicine and functional health practices can complement your care plan and empower you to take an active role in your wellness journey.
Parkinson's disease is a progressive neurological condition characterized by tremor, rigidity, slowness of movement, and postural instability. While medication remains a cornerstone of conventional treatment, many people discover that a more complete picture of their health-including gut function, nutritional status, sleep quality, and stress levels-can significantly impact their symptom management and overall quality of life.
A holistic approach recognizes that your body is an interconnected system. Your nervous system doesn't function in isolation; it's influenced by what you eat, how well you sleep, your stress levels, and the health of your gut microbiome. When you seek holistic Parkinsons support in Winchester MA or the surrounding North Shore communities in Essex County, Massachusetts, you're looking for practitioners who understand these connections and can work with you to optimize every aspect of your health.
This doesn't mean replacing your neurologist's care or prescribed medications. Instead, it means adding evidence-based natural medicine strategies that address root causes and support your body's resilience. Many people find that this integrated approach helps them feel more in control, reduces secondary symptoms like constipation or sleep disturbances, and improves their overall sense of wellbeing.
Did you know that approximately 80 percent of people with Parkinson's experience digestive issues, including constipation, which can profoundly affect medication absorption and overall comfort? Your gut health is not separate from your neurological health-it's foundational to it.
When you work with practitioners offering holistic Parkinsons support, nutritional assessment becomes central to your care. Specific nutrients play critical roles in brain health and dopamine production. Adequate protein intake, balanced micronutrient status (particularly B vitamins, magnesium, and antioxidants), and proper hydration all influence how well your body manages Parkinsonian symptoms.
Additionally, many people with Parkinson's develop sensitivities to certain foods or struggle with nutrient absorption due to digestive dysfunction. A functional medicine approach includes careful assessment of your individual nutritional needs, identification of foods that may worsen inflammation or symptoms, and strategic supplementation to fill nutritional gaps. Optimizing gut health through dietary adjustments, gut-supportive nutrients, and lifestyle modifications can improve medication effectiveness and reduce uncomfortable secondary symptoms.
At Waters Edge Wellness in Boxford, MA, practitioners take time to understand your unique nutritional picture and how your digestion may be affecting your neurological health. This personalized nutritional counseling is one of the most impactful aspects of comprehensive holistic Parkinsons support.
Your autonomic nervous system-the part that controls functions like heart rate, digestion, and sleep-is deeply affected by Parkinson's disease. This is why stress management and sleep quality deserve as much attention as medication management.
Chronic stress and poor sleep worsen motor and non-motor Parkinsonian symptoms, increase inflammation, and impair the very neurotransmitter systems you're trying to support. People seeking holistic Parkinsons support Winchester MA and surrounding communities are discovering that addressing these factors creates measurable improvements in symptom control and quality of life.
Evidence-based strategies include mindfulness practices, gentle movement therapies, consistent sleep hygiene protocols, and techniques that activate your parasympathetic nervous system. Some people find relief through acupuncture, massage therapy, or tai chi-practices that combine nervous system regulation with gentle physical activity. Because your stress response directly influences inflammation and neurotransmitter production, calming your nervous system isn't a luxury; it's medicine.
One of the most powerful tools in holistic Parkinsons support is intentional, appropriate movement. Research consistently shows that regular physical activity slows symptom progression and improves motor function in Parkinson's disease.
Unlike generic exercise recommendations, a holistic approach considers your individual capabilities, preferences, and goals. Some people thrive with strength training, others with dance or cycling, and still others with gentle yoga or walking programs. The key is finding something you'll actually do consistently, that challenges your balance and coordination, and that you enjoy enough to maintain long-term.
Practitioners offering comprehensive holistic Parkinsons support can help you design a movement plan that complements your medical care, works with your energy levels throughout the day, and adapts as your needs change. Combined with the nutritional, sleep, and stress management strategies discussed above, a thoughtful movement practice becomes a powerful part of your overall wellness strategy.
If you're interested in exploring holistic Parkinsons support in Winchester MA or other communities across Essex County, Massachusetts, start by finding a practitioner trained in functional medicine who understands neurological conditions. Look for someone willing to work collaboratively with your neurologist and other healthcare providers-integrated care is always more powerful than fragmented care.
Prepare for your first consultation by documenting your current symptoms, dietary patterns, sleep quality, stress levels, and any digestive issues. Bring a list of all supplements and medications you're currently taking. The more information you can provide, the more personalized and effective your care will be.
Remember that healing is a process, and small, consistent changes often lead to the most sustainable results. Whether it's improving your sleep, optimizing your nutrition, or establishing a meaningful movement practice, each step forward builds on the last. Waters Edge Wellness and similar holistic health practices in the North Shore region are equipped to guide you through this journey with evidence-based care and genuine compassion for your experience.
No, holistic approaches should complement, not replace, your prescribed Parkinson's medications and neurologist's care. However, when you optimize nutrition, sleep, stress management, and movement, many people find their medications work more effectively and secondary symptoms improve significantly. Always consult with your neurologist before making any changes to your medication regimen.
Key nutrients include B vitamins (especially B6, folate, and B12), magnesium, CoQ10, antioxidants like vitamin E and selenium, and omega-3 fatty acids. Adequate protein intake is also crucial for dopamine production and medication absorption. A functional medicine practitioner can assess your individual nutritional status and recommend appropriate supplementation based on your specific needs.
Some improvements, like better sleep quality or reduced digestive issues, may appear within weeks. However, more significant changes in motor symptoms or disease progression typically require consistent commitment over several months. Because Parkinson's is progressive, the goal is to optimize your current quality of life while supporting your body's resilience over time.
