Chapter 29: Trisha’s Story Begins
Welcome to Chapter 29 of the Blog Series Journeys to Health!
This week, we begin Chapter 29 with Trisha’s story. She was referred to Nancy by someone they mutually knew. After years of being an insomniac, she had exhausted her search for someone to get to the bottom of what was happening.
"What happened with your health that brought you to work with Nancy?"
Nancy: It’s really interesting because you came into the practice through referrals from someone we mutually care and love. But if you could just kind of recreate—go back and recreate how you came to choose someone in holistic health because you have some significant health issues. Is that correct?
Trisha: Definitely. I definitely did. I was having a lot of trouble sleeping, especially.
Nancy: Yeah. I mean, it’s like you were an insomniac for years.
Trisha: Years. Too many years.
"How much pain/dysfunctional health did you have before working with Nancy?"
Trisha: Yeah, I was starting—when I contacted you, I was definitely starting to get to the point where I was almost completely worn out. I couldn’t even carry on about my day. My total brain fog, I guess. My stomach was a mess. Yeah, I was not doing good.
Nancy: Yeah. And you weren’t on any medications. Had you seen physicians already?
Trisha: I had. I’d been to probably, I think I switched doctors three times because I felt like nobody was really getting to the bottom of it.
Nancy: Right, and I think it’s great. I mean, it’s always good when people know that something’s wrong and exhaust that whole piece. I think it’s really important. And, on what level was your dysfunction getting to? You know, 10 is just incapacitated. Where were you?
Trisha: If I wasn’t a 10, I was very close to it.
