Chapter 24: Danielle’s Overall Experience
Welcome to Chapter 24 of the Blog Series Journeys to Health!
Previously in Chapter 23 we discussed Danielle’s progress and sucess working with Nancy thus far. She discusses how long it took for her to notice some significant changes, as well as the struggles she went through to get there. On top of Lyme’s disease, Danielle was also going through the change – so her journey ended up not being as straightforward. She was eventually able to go back to working multiple part-time jobs, and even conquered her fear of walking in the woods. This week, we share Danielle’s experience and her advice to those seeking wellness.
"Did you feel supported through your ups and downs in the process?"
Nancy: I think too, you know Danielle, we’ve really come to know each other really well and I think, you’re a delight, you’re an absolute delight in my practice. I love when you come in the door, my dogs adore you. But I think it’s really important to share if you felt supported during your journey. I remember when you got COVID and we texted every day.
Danielle: Omg you, you’re a lifesaver. I remember when I found out I had it and I was terrified. I think I was crying on the phone with you. I was so scared because of course with the Lyme and then I have asthma.. just all these other issues. You were accessible and checking in, and you even had me on regiments right away. I just feel like you’ve got me through that in the best way possible and I can’t thank you enough for that. Not just for that but, for bringing me to where I am today with my Lyme. For me to come in so guarded and for you to be so patient and so supportive.. You let me get to the point of believing and trusting and healing. It’s just the best thing you can provide for people, it’s amazing.
Nancy: Thank you. It’s been a magnificent journey with you and it may never end. I mean, we may work together for a very long time which will be an honor and a privilege.
"If you had one thing to share about your experience with working with Nancy to those seeking wellness, what would that be?"
Danielle: I have talked to some people recently and I always say, ‘listen, I understand if you don’t want to leave the traditional world, but there is help out there. If you want to go see Nancy, like, she listens. She listens to your words, she listens to your body, she goes by what’s going on with your symptoms. It’s untraditional- she reads your tongue, but she really is so intuitive to what is going on with your body and she will find a way to help you.’ For me, this was my last resort. I had nothing else to try, and it was the best decision I could’ve ever made. You have been the most nurturing and supportive person I have worked with through my entire journey. You don’t give up. Everytime I come to you, you say all the time, I am one of your most sensitive clients. You just keep digging into that toolbox though. You’ll say, ‘let’s try this and if it doesn’t work let’s go back to the drawing board.’ You’re very persistent. You have to know not to come in naively thinking that it’s a quick fix. And I know when you’re that sick, all you want to do is feel better but when you’re sick for so long, it takes time, you know? You just have to be patient and have faith.
Nancy: Wise words, very wise words. Thank you Danielle. Thank you so much for a) having the idea for the journeys to health blog, it’s as a tribute to you. And b) for giving your story.
Danielle: I’ve been following your blogs and reading about other people’s journey’s. I just think it helps you feel like you’re not alone; there’s other people who are going through similar things. Everybody’s journey is different, but it really helps your current patients and for people who are searching for somewhere to land. It can really resonate with people- to connect with other people’s journey’s and say, ‘you know what, this is me.’ Maybe this can help you and hopefully they take that leap of faith and fight for their healing.
